Teac FD-235HF will allow use of HD disks in 60?

Will using the Teac FD-235HF drive allow me to use HD disks in the mpc60?
I would guess i would still only get 720k out of each disk,
but DD disks are hard to find, and im sure i can find a Teac FD-235HF easy enough.

FD-235HF is not = FD-235HF. The number(s) behind the HF is important.

Ok does anyone have a working FD-235HF, and could post the numbers after the HF possibly?

Ive read the drive from the 2K XL can have the jumpers set to work properly, Can anyone confirm this?

A529 is an old style drive that will work with SP1200. It will probably also work with MPC but I do not know if it will support HD and DD at the same time. This may depend on the jumper configuration and the host machine. The drive is capable of using HD disks but I have had no luck getting them to work in the SP1200.

Nope. The BIOS on the MPC 60 only recognizes DD formatted disks. You can format HD disks as DD, however the data inside is unstable and could get corrupted.

So a stock MPC3000 FD wont work on an MPC60 with OS 3.10E? I guess theres no need to open up the 60 then.

a stock 3000 mpc floppy driver work on mpc 60 with 3.10 (at least mpc 60II i made it here to test)

Oh i know the OS on the 60 can only see, format and use DD formatted disks. I was just wondering is i put a HD drive in the machine, with it in place, a HD disk formatted to DD would work better then formatting a HD disk to DD in a DD drive.
Its just a pain in the ass ordering DD disks off the web without a credit card and paypal blows. HD disks are just easier to find thats all.

wouldnt it be great if it is possible to create two DD filesytems on 1 HD floppy? so you have one HD which is recognized as two DD... Mh but it is very hard to get it function with the OS
