Now, would it not be a glorious thing if when in TRIM mode, shift + pad could actually assign the part of the sample you have highlighted?

I would just like to say that os 1.0 was bad, luckily i only used 1.0 for only 2 hrs! it crashed all the time and froze i cant believe Akai released that shit! Now the MPC 5000 with 2.0 blows the shit out of live, reason and any other software i've own! im so impressed, its an actual instrument. Sweetwater tried to talk me out of it and get live instead - which i used to own. The synth is good as well, i dont know what cats are talking about? tweak it a bit and you will find usable good sounds. i do mostly electric rock and those statements leave me to conclude the hip hop and rap producers are just lazy and expect this thing to write platinum hits for them since they seem to be the only ones complaining about the usability of this thing! and the difficulty or learning curve???? never used a MPC in my life and with in a day have song written along with programming ect ect.... didnt any one go to high school that uses this thing? I mean the manual is pretty worthless but i seem to be figuring it out real easy

yeah, its a pretty simple machine to use... i use to only work with 32MB's and that use to be my only gripe, which was more space.... but im good, now if we can get some of the bugs straight, it would be an almost perfect machine... IM GOOD

I uploaded a small Movie how my MPC reacts when scrolling through different Programs (with 64 samples each) while a sequence is running (only 30 MB of samples loaded, 192MB installed).
I just sequenced a 4x4 beat so it will be clear that the scrolling
1) locks up the Gui
2) timing/sync is completely lost !

This is behaviour in V2.0, 1.2 is reacting much better...but I want to be able to use V2.0 !!

This company is the Ford of electronic music and I hope their building burns down with all the employees stuck inside.

I tend to disagree about stability... in the form of freeze ups. This is actually the most stable one as far as no freeze ups for me.... my previous OS'es were worst with freeze ups. It would lock up in a heart beat previously... Honestly, this is my opinion though, but they are continuously improving in some ways the MPC 5000 more and more, with the OS updates, although some are going backwards with things that were operating find previously, but are having some issues with in the new OS'es.... And then they add other features as well, but once they get all the kinks worked out like all other MPC's, then this machine could be Whats up....

i make the change from the 2500jjos2 to the mpc5000 and i must say im impressed...the os works fine well i m just owing the mpc a few days.
it is easy to use for a long user...well the loading time is okay maybe if u build a ssd drive in it it could be faster....
what i noticed if u change between programs it slows a lil bit but it s still okay...i didn t noticed any bugs yet..

Does 2.0 add the ability to preview a sample while browsing using a pad? The 1k did this and was a feature I really loved. I don't want to use the "f" key to press play. I just want to be able to hit a pad (it's much faster for me). I tried this on a 5k yesterday with the original os and this did not work.

A few suggestions on bugs/annoyances and improvements on OS2

1. Sometimes in TRIM mode sample gets confused as to whether its stereo or not.. the first is stereo - convert to mono.. goto next sample - that appears to be stereo but the convert to mono function doesnt work - goto another sample and then go back and now its mono - this is an annoying bug

2. On sample in TRIM mode - goto PROGRAM to check free location goto TRIM mode to assign and it goes back to start of sample list... Should go to last sample used so you can quickly use SHIFT+PAD to allocate

3. Goto load new folder from DVD - clear all memory first - Crashes occasionally.. Maybe im pressing the buttons too fast but needs loking into

4.When assigning sample with SHIFT+PAD from TRIM mode plays entire sample if program is ONE-SHOT - very annoying especially on large samples - should just play when pad is held.

5. When copying names in rename file extension shouldnt be included.. Really annoying when trying to retrieve .ALL file name when first overwriting in a session you get 'filename.all.all' - have to delete the extension every time.

6. Env Release timing fades out too quickly at end - too abrupt sometime i like a loong smooth fade on looped samples and to get it i have to use the mixer section because the envelope slopes off way to quickly at the end.

Most of these seem simple to include in a future update

Want more punch in the reverb? try this!
1.load a reverb fx in the first slot in a FX chain.
2. now load a compressor in second slot.
this will make a fatter sound, and it can somewhat emulate the old spring reverb sound

I have the same problem.
i recorded a pad track the notes(three notes choreds all the way) are 2880 long then 960 and its 4 bars.
when i save sequence and then loading it most of the notes are reset to -0- .
i use motif xs for the oad but i dont get that problem with the other motif midi conect sounds that i use for this sequence.
is it a bug or my misunderstand?

well anyway i found out that if i insert 2880 and 960 notes in a bar when i save and then load its resets to -0-
and when i did 2875 and 955 its saved and then load is ok
OS problem?
other guy that had same problem told me that the problem was only on HD and on CF it was ok

one more OS problem i have is that when i change vel. on grid mode its resets back only in step mode the new value stays.
thnx in advance to any answer about how to solve this.
