HELP! mpc not working

my jog wheel didn't work very well, and my mode button was not responding too well, and my mpc 2500 was really dirty... so i bought a circuit board for the right side of my mpc. i took apart the casing and undid the conections (no soldering) put the buttons from the old board on the new board (switching the busted mode button for the full level button that i hardly use) and switched it on. nothing on the right side of the machine worked. so i put it back the way is was before with my orginal board and now the old one doesn't work either... anybody ever had this problem?

are you shure you connected all the cables properly?

Once i replaced a button, so i had to disconnect the right circuit board, braze a new button on, and re-connect the board.
When i powered on the device a really weird startup-sequence started (something like scandisc or so...) and i was really worried because i thought i messed it up completely.
But then i opened it again and wiggled some of the connections, and tadaa - then it worked

sounds like u might have fried ur board..what do you mean by you "put button from old board onto new board" without soldering....these tacts need to be soldered in order for them to have a connection to the board its self..hope this helps,as im not sure whats going on,,lol

Thanks for responding. I must have done something really wrong, because it appears my f1-f6 buttons have stopped working now as well. in fact, the pads are the only thing working on the machine now besides the screen
i thought this would be a cinch to install a new right-side board when i found out there'd be no soldering, but it looks like i murdered my mpc.

oh and sonseelye, i was only switching the plastic parts of the buttons, where you can pop them out from the back of the board

check all tha cables, be carefulwith static electricity, all the contacts, 90 percents
it s only 1 faulty contact! sometimes cable breaks or the soldered fixation,
on the board, take care also not to produce any short, with a loosen screw for ex.

kaboom!!! the ribbon at the lower right side of the board was loose. now it's all good and my mpc is like new! thanks guys.
