Alrigth, thanks :D Have you used this one on a MPC? I sure looks like the original alps encoder.

Cheers.

Alrigth... i was able to get a few "Alps STEC12E07 Rotary Encoders" directly from Alps for evaluation. I solderd it on today and it works perfect. :D

Peterpiper: Thanks for the advise on the STEC12E07 Rotary Encoders! :D

Cheers

i was at conrad and bought 2 of them u mentioned above. mine isnt damaged so far, but to have 2 of them in storage should be a good idea ;)

but i got a question:
do you have to cut or "shape" the shaft where the data wheel sits or does it fit perfectly to the wheel? (if you understand what i mean)

just for information, so i dont have to ask in the future and to complete this thread.

Your screen will probably fail before you use up the current one plus the two extras.

haha thanks for the info.

my screen is just like new, bright, no lines or dead pixels. sometimes if i turn my jogwheel to the left it first skips 3 values to the right and then it goes left. so, its not a big problem yet, but i bought them today for having some in stock if my rotary encoder dies out ;)
