I haven't listened to the song yet, but I grabbed both of the beats. I actually really liked Kiler Beat. The mixing is really even, and the kick actually hits. Parts of it sound a little mechanical, but not a bad effort at all. It got my head nodding anyway, and isn't the point? :-) I also found your use of pan to be a little excessive, but that's a matter of taste. During some of the scratches it almost sounds like it's coming from only one speaker, and I've always hated hard panning in tracks when used that way, so I might be a bit biased. The woman singing sample is really good for the feel of the track, and blends in really well. I'd personally take out the vinyl noise loop, or possibly put it under the loop, then chop the loop and rearrange it a little so the vinyl sound isn't so smooth and consistent, making it sound sampled. These are really the only "bad" things I can say about it.

I wasn't as fond of the guitar beat...I have some suggestions for this. First, the heavily distorted guitar kind of reminds me of hair metal, and I don't like 80s rock that much. The drums aren't bad, though still feel a little too quantized.....try playing in at least the hats and snare with quantize off always is my general rule of thumb for myself, anyway. Toward the beginning to middle, there's one trigger of the scratch sample that is panned pretty far left where it sounds off beat and almost flams the kick. It's not terrible or anything, and I'm just being nitpicky because you asked for it, and feedback always helps me, personally.

In any case, it sounds like you're definitely headed in the right direction. Even though I didn't like the guitar track as much, it all comes down to a matter of taste, and we all know how it changes the sound of a beat when you get a dope MC flowin on top of it, so maybe it's all good.....

Keep it up, and aim high!

Peace,
MANiK
