problem solved

now youve created a bigger problem,

i looked at there stuff before i did it myself and yeah they have some unique stuff,,but for the price they tell you the frigin mpc should be included..

all they did was take some good artist and designers and imagination to come up with these ideas

you can do the same thing believe it or not!!!

I've always wanted my Mp customized. Keep posting please as I may have the guts to try this on mine using your work as a roadmap... I still want to see the pictures of the screen. I'm a little unclear what you were doing with those light tubes. Maybe something not in the 1k. You sure do a fine job though. Damn fine my man.

Rite on my friend. Also, let us know where you got the lettering done. What kind of place does this? Would I be able to find something local? Or is that something you also did yourself and just had someone else put a coating on? You can just answer these questions as you go along if you can. This is the main thing that has kept me, as well as many others, from trying something like this ourselves. This looks right on par with the job Forat does. I'll stop swinging now, as I am growing ashamed of myself. Just giving credit where I feel it is due...

Yeah the new ccfl is very interesting. I will do this too but I will try to get another color. Red and Green are filled with neon but I think I look for something like
xenon

argon

Can you give more information about the specifications of the CCFL (if there are some importatnt thinks to look for. Volt etc)

peace and thank you

dude i apreciate ur interest and kind words..
i will post some more pics later..i made this thread a while ago and not to many people seemed interested so i didnt go much further into details..
the lettering was put back on by a screen printing shop..i had to take it to them before i painted it and they made a template and after i painted it they had it for about 4 days and then returned it with the lettering..cost about 170 but well worth it,they did an excelent job...i could have had a decal made but honestly,i was looking for the authentic look,,stickers peel and get bubbles and all kinds of sh1t so i wanted it "original"
stay on the lookout,i'll post up some cool sh1t i do..if u look around through my threads,i've customized 4 mpc's on here,,funny thing is,im not even sure where the threads are lol..

thanx for checkin it out..
to tell you the truth, every ccfl i looked at had the same ratings,,all being 4 inch or 100mm of course..so honestly i couldnt tell you if the have to be a certain v,w,a,etc..
but i can tell you i purchased 4 of them all from different companies and everyone of them worked...
and also..i have a blue one and an ultra violet one,but because everything on the mpc was red,i decided to keep it all one color..
i think the xenon one would look sweet in ur machine,is that urs in your sig? is it a 3g? i think ive told u i dig ur sig..

do you know the specs of your screen?
is it the same size as the 2000xl?
does it have a backlight? or is the screen itself lit?
sorry i just bombed u with questions.lol

^^
Yes the MPC in my sig is mine. Its the 2000 (non XL) Glad that you like the sig :)
The display of the 2000 is the same as in the 2000XL so it also got that backlit ccfl. I'm a little afraid to work on the display cause it seems impossible at the moment to find another if it gets damaged. The only thing I found is this

http://www.wdfinc.com.tw/lcdinqa.asp?MA ... mit=Search

I dont know where to measure the size of the display. The metal frame around the display is 119 x 38 mm . the pcb the display is mounted to is 125 x 37 mm.

Well I think I will do the display mod later. I will try to get more information for the ccfl. The ones I've seen are 230V (thats the volts of the power net here in germany) and I think I've heard it one time that the ccfl are for 100V. To risky at the moment.

the only thing in germany to get ist the Backlight (midirakete)

The rest are some online shops like MPC Stuck, and VST

LCD like these are rare like a Hindu-Monk in Ghana! ??? ??? ???

Yeah but I'm a digger. I know there will be a day when I go to a second hand store and see an old electronic device nobody ever thought about, that use the same display.Something like a big calculator or a small translation computer :D
Well ok its maybe easier to find something like the 24 carat black LP for 50 cent. But I dont give up

efil 4 reggiD

;)
