Actually it looks like there is a sequence window that u can load ur mpc sequences, wow this is what i've been looking forward to

really?! i'd be surprised if it couldn't read mpc sequences.

tell you what also reads mpc sequences - the mpc that you already own!

True but VST effects are just marginally better than the ones on the MPC ;)

Real time intigration with the hardware would be nice, but i am dreaming. Maybe something like aksys?? But it does look interesting, have to wait for details. What is the expected release date?

Yeah, marginally... :)

I wish Akai would work with a decent third party for their effects, because the typical Akai quality is useable at best.

only interested in this if it's 100% MPC compatible. meaning that you can edit your MPC sequences realtime while it is connected to the computer. or do a bunch of funky stuff in the JJ sequencer that you can't do in GRID EDIT.

press a key and the JJ sequencer grabs your current sequence from the MPC, and then press a key and the JJ sequencer transmits the sequence back to the MPC and it pops up in GRID EDIT then you can keep working on it there, bumping back and forth as needed. with realtime integration so you could audition your sounds & edits.

if this JJ sequencer had tight MPC integration like that, it would be a nice complement to the hardware... and once he came out with a MAC version i would probably get it.

but just a standalone PC sequencer? forget it.

This is just about where I'm at. I tried to mess around with computer sequencers, but couldn't get past latency issues. The only thing for me would be if it is 100% compatable with the Mp. It might be cool to load up a project form the Mp and mess around 808 style with the PC then dump it back to the Mp. I might like that a lot actually...

I bet this is why there hasn't been any recent updates to the XL OS lately. I imagine he's working on something to drop both at the same time. Where you need the latest version of the XL OS to integrate with the PC sequencer. Just my thoughts.

same thing i thought

If it was a kind of core integration of the MPC I could see how it would work for a lot of people on here but not how it would get much commercial appeal. Brings a whole new realm to mastering your tracks.

Imagine this:
You get a project you are happy with on the MPC. Now some people export the sounds as separate tracks into a DAW then master.
You would transfer the project file to your computer, containing all samples etc.
How you could just play through it, teak a bit and record but you get access to everything.
Each track can be EQed with any VST plus other effects, then grouped together for group effects.
Bass lines and pads you've relied on samples to get a feel can now be replaced with a VSTi and you can fully rework each part with automation.
Etc
etc.

All great for those that already love the way the MPC works and want to get deeper into the music.

I know it's early and probably worth a wait and see...

but that looks pretty ugly and likely to be mouse clicky to me.

This looks very interesting. Hopefully there's going to be tight integration with MPC. Any news on release date?
