Need and advice from 2000 classic users!

I have an mpc 500 which I love and use everyday. But, as 90% of the world's population (lol), I would love having an 2000xl or even an 2000 classic. After some search, I understood that, getting an 1000 would give me almost the same specs and it would be cheaper (if second hand). So, in the last weeks I've tried to forget saving money for an 2000.
At this point, I found an sp-505 at a good price (180€) and i'm close to buy it, has it would be a good sidekick sampler for my 500. Besides, it has wave edit, which I like. But today I saw an add of an mpc 2000 classic, 32mb, zip drive for 450€... the con is that it has a f*ckd up row of pads...So, what's your opinion? Should I stick with the sp505 + mpc 500 bizz or should I try to lower the price of the 2000 for say....300?350?

Any other thoughts that you think that could be helpful for a mpc500 user are welcome!

mpcstuff.com sells the pad sensors for $85. they're a reproduction of the original akai oem sensors because akai no longer makes them.

I'd go with the SP-505 personally and forget about the classic, but then I personally wouldn't buy anything with **** up components. If the pads are screwed then it hasn't been looked after, simple as that. It makes you wonder what else is wrong with it...

I HAVE HAD A SP 1200, ASR X, MPC 500, MPC 1000, MPC 2000XL, AND A MPC 2000 CLASSIC... AND I HAVE TO SAY THE MPC 2000 CLASSIC IS THE BEST ONE I HAVE DEALT WITH PERIOD! IT IS WHAT WORKS PERFECT FOR ME. IT WOULD BE A DOPE MACHINE TO GET. BUT I WOULDN'T GET ONE FOR 450.00 WITH MESSED UP PADS. YOU CAN GET THEM ALL DAY IN MINT CONDITION ON E BAY.. IF YOU WANT SOMETHING WITH YOR 500.00 THAT HAS WAVE EDIT I WOULD DOWNLOAD AUDACITY FOR FREE. JUST GOOGLE IT...

Well, in the end I went for the sp505, because the owner of the f*cked up mpc didn't want to reduce the price! I gave it a second thought and decided that for 400-500$ I could get a MPC2000 classic anytime on ebay...right?

As for the sp505, for 180€, I think it was a good price for a decent machine! By the 3 days of practice, it as a good chop function (similar with the mpc's), but not as good file organization.

Don't get me wrong, I still dream with an 2000XL or even a classic...didn't give up on getting that beast =D
