MPC Troublez

So I have a mpc2500 that i havent used for a while and finally got around to using it again and its been acting all funky.
It used to work fine but now it's starting to freeze up on me when i start it up. Usually it will get freeze and the slider buttons will light up and also the 16 levels button will light up.
I also noticed that when I hit pads it says i'm hitting a different pad (e.g. hitting pad a1 but mpc says its a3)
What the **** is going on? I havent damaged this thing in anyway and all of a sudden it just seems ****.

well i solved the problem of the weird pad hits but it still freezes just after start up and i have to retry a couple of times before it works properly.
