Problems with PGMmaker

I am a new user to this forum and i allready found some good information.

My problem are that i just switched from Pc to a Mac G4 running OS 9.2.2 and i would like to transfer some of my samples that i have in the Mac to my Mpc 2000.
I was reading that the best way would be with a ZIP drive. I have Scsi 250Mb drive for my MPC and i just got a Usb 250Mb for my Mac. I first tried to format the Zip disk on my Mac with Dos but the Mac just crashed. Then i tried to format the Zip disk with my Mpc and that worked fine, but when i tried to copy the wav files on my Mac to the Zip i got an error type -39 in OS 9.2.2.
Then i found the evaluation copy of Mpc Pgmmaker through this forum and downloaded it. I is really nice but the problem is when I make the Pgm and load it into the Mpc the samples sounds like there are some delay or flaming at the end point, they don´t sound like the original samples.
I tried to convert them as Snd,Wave and N/C but it sounded the same. Do any one know what the problem is or do you know another way to get my samples from the Mac to the Mpc. I hope that somebody can help because i really think the Pgm maker is a nice tool and i would deffinetly register it if it will work.

I use the program daily with my 3000. I format the zip disks in the MPC or I use PC formatted zips. I also have two types of disks - and I label them too.

Master Disks - They are used only in the MPC to store the final editions of samples and sequences. Never use them in the Mac.

Transfer Disks-These go back and forth between the Mac and the MPC to transfer the sounds and programs and sequences. I also erase these or trash the files on the Mac after each use.

The MPC2000 can only read SND files. Not WAVs. The program creates SND files for it. Make sure that you are saving the Program and Sounds to your computer's hard drive first. Don't keep the files in a folder when you transfer them to the MPC. Just dump the sounds and the programs into the zip. (Also check to see if the MPC2000 can use the 250 zips.)

I tried to copy the files to my Harddrive as you wrote and then copy the files to a Mpc formated disk but i still get the error type -39 from the mac OS 9.2.2. when i drag the files over to the Zip drive.

I found out that the error type -39 is a end of file error but, i can´t find any soultion on the net how to fix this problem.

I have been using the 250Mb Zip drive for my Mpc a long time and it works. The thing is is when i save the Pgm file directly to the Zip it´s not a problem to import the Pgm+sounds in the Mpc, but when i press the pads on the Mpc the sound is really strange.

I have been able to mount a MPC formatted Zip on the desktop in OS 9.22 also. I can't fugure out what's happening with you. Since MPCPGMMaker was upgraded, I don't use OS9 much, but it did work. I also used 100MB zips.

Are you making them yourself? Are you doing any editing on them in the Mac? What program are you editing in? What format are you saving in?

Next, when you drag files into PgmMaker, be certain that you've (as the man said) selected "snd" as the file format for saving. I'd also have a look at your extension set and possibly even consider reinstalling your System. You shouldn't have problems formatting DOS on your Mac. In fact, the more i think of it the more i suspect your Mac as the root of the problem here.

I have just given in and gone to OSX on a seperate drive. An inelegant solution, but one that works.
