ok im kinda new,but yes i read the manuals but still dont understand midi i want 2 use my mpc to sequence and how can i get sounds off my Roland fanthom? thnx for any info

read the manual on midi, i havent doen it but i think you hook up the midi out onto the midi in on yoyur mpc right then on track instead of drum you change it to midi think my mpc aitn on and my manual isnt close so im too lazy to do it if that doesnt work ill looka t them both

You connect the MIDI out into the MIDI in of the Fantom with a MIDI chord. THen in the MAIN screen in the MPC you switch the track to "Drum" to "MIDI", the PGM # to "OFF", and the "MIDI:OFF" to "MIDI:1A" or whatever channel you want the MIDI signals output on. On the Fantom, just set the MIDI receive channel to the same channel you set for output on the MPC, and you should be able to get sounds out of it then, if u got any problems get at me..

Yup - the sequencer can record whatever CCs you send it, or you can manually insert MIDI Volume (CC#7) messages in the sequence track you want volume control on.
I don't know the Fantom, but other Roland synths need to be in Performance mode before the play nicely (multitimbrally) with a Sequencer like the MPCs.
