Differences between original OS and 1.31

I'm currently using the OS that came with the MPC500. I think it's V1.1. I'was thinking about switching to 1.31, but cant seem to find what the differences are between the 2.

All I can seem to find is negative feedback regarding V1.31. Can anybody explain them to me or point me to somebody/something that can?

For starters. 1.31 offers high pass, band pass, and low pass frequency filters. 1.31 also cures numerous bugs, including one that corrupts your saved projects files. Bottom line, update ASAP!

definitely update. yes there are imperfections with the latest OS, but it is certainly an improvement on previous versions.

I updated my OS to 1.31, and there is one thing thats annoying the hell out of me....

Was recording a sequence using pads D7 thru D11, except when the sequence played back, it was using the samples from pads C7 thru C11.

I don't know man, I got the 1.13 OS and the problems I run into are fixable. I don't get these things.
But I AM the type that records samples, make a track with it and then erase everything and start fresh again. So That could play a part.

I may follow your example and erase everything after making a track. Maybe I have the memory too-chocked -fulla-goodness. I only have the native 16.

I have a question, I'm about to upload the new OS to my 500. Although it's unlikely from the responses I read here, IF I don't like the new OS can I go back to the original? If so, how?

Well, I made the switch and its worth it yo. You could theoretically go back to the original OS, providing you have the file for it. Usually technology doesn't let you go backwards, but you never know. You do realize the newest OS helps fix the bugs of the previous OD don't you?

Yeah I feel you, I guess the only reason I ask is because I haven't really run into any problems with the old OS. So I didn't really want to risk loading another "buggy" OS. You know, get rid of the old bugs & get new ones. But from all the positive posts, I'll be doing it as soon as I get home from work.

Make a backup of your old one first. I searched for the old one on the net the other day and couldn't find it for the life of me. Its not out there anywhere!

To backup your old OS you have to access your CF from your computer and copy the file with the .bin extention.
