Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

at least some one finally searched before asking a question that's already been asked and answered.

He forgot to mention that you need the main or assignable outs connected to the interface also....

Peace!

This doesn't address my MIDI question. I know how to connect devices through MIDI.

Any Idea why I can't get the first note to record on my 2000? Possible latency issue but I'm not sure.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

what do you mean buy the first note not recording?

Try adding a blank bar before it records so the MPC and computer have time to sync.

Ether,

Thanks for getting me on point. What I meant to say is that the sound from the first note is cut off when I record to the MPC. The computer isn't in the equation yet.

When I set up a sequence on the MPC. Select a MIDI track. Choose a voice from the keyboard(Motif) and press record on the MPC...The sound/voice played or pressed on my keyboard is cut off at the beginning. If I press the key at timecode 001.01.00...the MPC will not record it or play it back. It is "cut off".

And I know that Midi is not sound...only information.

Does that make more sense?

Thanks,

RA

Someone please help.

Thank you

i dont know what could be causing this, but for some reason it reminds of of a similar thing with a feature you might have... begin record on keystroke.. or something like record on input... maybe your motif is set up to only transmit on the first key push.. the feature is designed so you dont have to push record and jump back to the keys in time.

Interesting. I've never heard of that.

Everyone keeps telling me to just add an extra bar to my sequence in the MPC and start at the 2nd bar. But I never have to do that with my Mo Phatt or my the KORG I used to have.

Weird.

Even the guys at Guitar Centar are baffled.

This makes no sense! lol

Someone had to have experienced this before...and someone has to know how to solve it.

Thanks for your help man.
