I paid $500 for the s8's but you can get the s5's for like $300 I think... zzounds gotta nice payment plan. As for dude who said there bass heavy, they have excellent bass but if there against a wall the bass can be too strong , there's an adjustment switch on the back though that compensates that issue nicely.

Yamaha's have it to called Room Control.

Don't use that, get acoustic treatment!

Room Control is for setting monitors that are near a wall with no other option. Yeah acoustic treatment might help but it's got to be the right foam.

Room control can make things worse.

I thought nearfield monitors got a sweet spot and dont require acoustic treatment ?

I think that sweet spot is messed up though, if you have a small room.

Hell yeah. I bought my KRK 5's for that price. Even if you don't need them you could resell them.

They are junk. Try the new KRK Rockets. The 5 & 8 sound great.

I'm using (5) Event 20/20's with a Surround Sub.
