There are a few things I don't like about the design:

1. A DVI port whould have been a great option to have. Also, while it is great to have a large built in screen, it should be adjustable. I would also prefer if it was centered.

2. The MPC-like drums pads appear to be smaller in size. It makes very little sense to mess with this industry standard design

3. Track ball is in a bad location IMHO. I would want it in a location where I can comfortably rest my hand for extended use. It should be centered also.

4. No jog wheel.

This comparison has nothing to do with MPC's so doesnt belong in this particular forum.

Studio Environments is more appropriate for such an open-ended gear discussion.

They updated the specs on the site. Looks like it indeed has a DVI out. The pads are the 1k size but from what I hear they have softer pads and are accurate and sensitive unlike the current Akai designs. I do agree about the need for a jog wheel.

The price for pre- orders is 3500.00 You will probably still be able to get it for that after it releases too.

My gripe is that I wish it had an upgraded quad core processor like the Miko LX5. The PreSonus Firebox sound card it comes with is cheapo and can be purchased for under $300.00

My last gripe is that the Guru software that the pads interface with is still no MPC replacement. It lacks sampling and no piano roll type sequencer. Sequencing keyboard parts is limited as well on Guru. It is no match for the MPC sequencer and has no sampling. This is the part that is supposed to be the MPC killer and it is not. If the Guru software was more capable it would have a chance of replacing an MPC. Even though it is a nice box with pads, the reasons you would need an MPC with a computer set-up are still in effect with the D-beat. That is on top of having to pay a premium for an under spec processor and sound card.

Close but no cigar.

If I didn't have a Laptop/Midi Controller/MPC etc. I would get it.

They came too late with this thing.
