Compactflash to USB host adapter!!!

I wonder is something like this would let us connect external USB harddrives to our MPC1000s using their compactflash port?

That provides USB support through compact flash, not the drivers to use USB devices attached to the compact flash, which of course requires drivers to work. While it could technically work, I highly doubt JJ or Akai would update the MPC to include the drivers to access USB devices. Besides, which would you rather use code space for, redundant drivers for things that the MPC can already do with the HD upgrade/CF, or new features and improved workflows?

I kinda figured it probably wouldn't work because of the need for drivers. I was just wondering and hoping "maybe" it wouldn't need drivers. I guess that's not the case here.
