MPC1000, Organizing projects (files)

Hello,

I love my MPC 1000 that I got recently. But I managed to overwrite some of my work and it made me angry.. not green, but angry.

What is the best way of organizing the memory card, projects, programs and sequences?

I want minimal copying of samples all over the place (like my favorite kicks/snares might follow every project, even though the main samples change)?

I guess I could build on the same project and keep using "Save entire memory" but i would probably run out of memory at some point.

2 weeks and already I'm getting "double sounds" and some strange feel to a few pads...not good, with the velocity levels at default you have to keep hitting pretty hard, so it should be able to take the punishment.. but it seems not to hold to well.

make a certain folder for your final tracks,,ie...programs and files and sequences and songs..and then when ur saving make sure to check where u are saving to each time,,because it will automatically save to where your last sample was uploaded from..

I have seperate folders for samples I record into the MPC, drums, scratches etc. Then I'll create a seperate folder for each track I complete, saving the related Sequence, Program, and samples into the relevant folder.

Thanks for the tips! I did something similar, created folders for samples types. Eg: smp-hats, smp-kicks, smp-congs
And then a folder for every project: p-mysong, p-song2, etc..

Think I'll keep loading the folders (after clearing the memory) and stop using "save all memory" and autoload all together.
