Basically, the MPC is not recording the beat that i put into it. its especially noticeable on stuff like double kicks and hi hat patterns, which require that idiosyncratic live feel. i punch in a beat and i can hear live that i am playing it in a certain way, but when the track plays back to me everything sounds like its been quantized to death, or it simply has not been recorded. its obviously pretty frustrating because i can hear the beat being put in and then a completely different one coming out. its as if the mpc is locking my hits into a really strict grid and it stops me from getting a good rhythm.
i tested it against ableton by playing the mpc live into the computer and comparing the differences between the mpc and computer beats - it was enormous. i had this problem with my old mpc 1000 so i sold it and got a new mpc 2500. it worked well for like three days before it started messing up again.
has anyone else experienced this problem? if anyone knows how to solve this id be really grateful.
thanks,
pfone
