MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

I have been using my MPC since May of 2008 and have had no problems with MIDI. It is basically plug and play. As of recently, I cannot play the synthesizer using my MIDI keyboard anymore. My MIDI in ports are working fine because I am using MIDI Clock with software on my laptop as well. My keyboard (M-Audio Axiom 61) is working fine as well because I also use it with software on my computer. Any ideas anyone?!?!?!? I really don't think I'm overlooking something simple, but if I am please let me know!

do you have the midi out of your axiom going into the midi in of your mpc 5000?

and then, on the track you so choose, do you have track 'type' as midi and then the correct midi channel selected, as well as the mute off (example: midi channel 1A)

as well as the audio through the correct path so that you will be able to hear the audio in your monitoring system?

Start by reading SCD's MIDI guide (see sticky) - it's really good!
