I just got an MPC 1K to try out the JJOS and it won't turn on.

I did some searching and tried holding onto the erase button on startup, but no go. My guess is that a fuse is blown? I checked the main fuse, accessible from opening the bottom of the case up, but it looks fine...is there another fuse on the top side (under the pads) of the main board? <-looking from the bottom?

I'm freaking out a bit that I should never have strayed from my 3K/60 roots...someone heeeelp!

I'm also thinking of selling it as is for $400 if I can't get it fixed if anyone is good at fixing them on this board

thanks in advance

^it's the black one with the newer single pad's, I've checked the contrast, I'm going to check the fuses today and see what's up...and if you're interested I'll sell here ($375 plus shipping)

cool, hit me up

I fixed the MPC, the fuse was bad, so now it's good to go. The only thing is the retainer for the memory is broke and it is having trouble reading memory chips (more than the 16 mb onboard). I have the spare clip, but it looks like a **** to resolder in.

i think nym had a fix for that - something simple like a rubber band and a matchstick... i might not be remembering that right though..
