My little setup for jamming with the MPC. I've an Akai Headrush pedal that I use to loop stuff from the MPC, meaning that I can then 'play' the pads like a keyboard, and effect them.

Akai MPC500
Boss DD-7
Boss PH-3
Boss OC-2 (not pictured - works as a LPF of sorts)
Boss CEB-3 (not pictured - get some nice wobbly effects going on)
Akai Headrush E2 (not pictured - for looping. Eventually want to replace it with a better sampler. SP-303 or SP-404 maybe)

This is hopefully my last studio setup in Chicago (moved 4 time in the last year). Now I'm above a vacant storefront so I have the whole building to myself. Super close to my 2 favorite record stores in the city (Permanent and K-Stark records). Only thing missing is L8/ MFL/ APC40! (and some more booze)

funny the peice of gear iv had thru it all and still use every single day is my alesis 3630 compresser heh..makes my drums sound amazing!

I think its a nice set-up. Although I own other mpc's, I love the 500.

it s the x station 25, i got it really cheap, i like the faders and knobbs,
i use it to controll other syths like micro modular ,
and for quick sessions, the programming of the
templates, is easy, the sound is in the midrange segment of digitl synths,
it s a good allrounder easy to programm but the sound of the virus is far better!

I was looking at the xstation today. you never tried to fatten up it's sound by running it through some of your other gear?

all those vintage keys and knobs..........
