Old Drum Machines?

i still got my old ass alesis sr 16 around here somewere

The RZ-1 is a strange beast and I can't explain why I like it, but I do -- bent or not. There was a company in the UK I believe who would mod your RZ-1 to have more sampling time and switchable banks between 808 and 909 sounds. I can't believe I passed one up on eBay once . . .

There is something nice about the RZ, I had one for a while and I got to liking the stock drum sounds quite a bit.

You can hear some of the stock sounds on "Plug Tunin'" and I think "Daisy Age" by De La. Aside form the hi-hat I find them horrible though

Someone likes old drum machines...

I lucked up and found a Oberheim DX in the THRIFT STORE last week for $44.00 . In very , very good condition , cleaner than my 2000xl . I played with it and everythings good . I'll might get it modified with midi and sell it though . Never give up on that thrift store !

I want to find the DMX snare chip and stick it in my DX. Mine is the first revision without MIDI and I think I paid like $200 for If you get a chance could you record an MP3 just hitting each sound on your DX? I have this strange suspicion that some of the default chips in mine have been swapped with others (Oberheim offered a bunch of optional ones you could put in).

I just found out something I never knew. For all this time I've wanted a DMX instead of the DX but I'm glad I have the DX instead. One simple reason, the pitch pots that are easily accessible on the DX in the back you have to open up the unit to get to on the DMX. Lame.

I have a Yamaha su10 but that is not a drum machine
its an older sampler but very portable

I have a synsonics drum machine made by matel

and I used to have the yamaha dd5


I had a 909 in my studio for like a year
and this dude who lent it to me had no idea what it was
I was not really doing much drum machine music at the time
and I totally never got to using it and sampling it and everything
Eventually he asked for it back I think he figured out it was desirable

That Pic of all the shelves of all drum machines is what I hope to have one day
even though I know there is no need for it
but some people collect cars I collect drum machines and samplers
