Is this possible?

Is it possible to connect 2 devices to the same zip drive?

For example, could I connect my 60 and an external sampler to the drive (with the sampler connected to the unused port on the drive) and just swap disks to save? Is this what that second port on the scsi zip drive is for? I'm using an Iomega Zip 100.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I think the extra port on the back is for a cd-drive.

I dont know if you could share a zip drive with 2 machines though.

i dont think that will work, the other connection is a "through" plug i beleive, like if you wanted to bypass the zip and go to an external HD or something, or chain another zip

etc...

Before you buy a second zip drive try it first. The way SCSI works it seems feasable to do what you are asking. Actually if I were a betting man I would put some money on it. Make sure all the devices have different SCSI ID numbers. Make sure the chain terminates somewhere.

****Update***** It is possible. I just called my boy. He has his ASR X and ASR-10 connected to an external zip at this very moment.

Ah, beautiful, thanks for finding out for me. I don't yet have an external sampler (just the 60) so I couldn't test this theory for myself. When I do get it's good to know that I can save some space by just using the one zip drive. Thanks a lot.
