Queen West is cool with me. Another place; my cousin works at this joint in the Queens Quay Terminal building. We'll usually go there late at nite, blaze a head, eat and be talking all kinds of sh!t till morning. We can always link up there still or wherever's good for you all. As long as it's got a patio where you can relax and it ain't one of those stiff-neck bougie joints that I know downtown is notorious for.

I got my time off coming up from next week so I'm down.

Now to answer your question...what is a line conditioner?

A line conditioner is an electrical device (often part of a UPS) that ensures a constant level of electricity, by cleaning up any fluctuations in voltage.

The reason you NEED a line conditioner for your audio gear is because the up and down voltages present in AC voltage can: create distortions and hums while recording, cause your output levels to be lower than they should be and can also damage the sensitive electronics in your equipment.

Line conditioners can also protect your equipment from surges by breaking the circuits the instant that there is a buildup.

It's essential to get one. You could go to a Future Shop and cop a surge bar and it says, $45,000 protection guarantee and X amount of joules of protection but it ain't the same sh!t as a real audio/video specialty line conditioner.

I was supposed to get mine the day after the blackout hit...sh!t, too bad I don't have Miss Cleo skills.

The brand I use is called Panamax, they got a website, http://www.panamax.com

I picked it up from Musonic, which is right near my place, Kingston Road just after Morningside heading East. They are an authorized Panamax dealer. I paid about $500 for mine.

Check it out see which one works for you but definitely get it, it should be a non-negociable.

so like i was saying-i've got alot of the basic skills down. i am looking to make a beat or 2 as a project from beginning to end. i'd like to get more familiar with sequencing and shit. i can sample and make programs and do some small little sequences but i'd like to learn more about the song mode and laying down tracks, using the effects. mainly laying down the tracks. intro, chorus, coda-ya know. i am figuring it out on my own but it's going very slowly. i work like 50+ hours a week and don't have the time i'd like to be spending on this shit. i figure a good 4 hours with one of ya'll will really put shit into perspective and i can get the beats outta my head and into the mpc. anyone who thinks they'd be down for the task just hit me up. i know a $100 ain't a ton of money but a $100 is a $100. peace, matt
