Does any1 use reason as a sound mod, seq. 2 there mpc2500???

yea i watched the video doesnt help me one bit...i have everything hooked up right..i here the sounds coming from reason...but im triggering 2 different sounds at once..ill record a loop melody with a thor sound, add a different sound from reason, i go to my 2nd midi channel on the mpc (2C), press play and itll play both sounds, like i recorded both of the sounds on both tracks/midi channels???

Go into the Reason screen! Go to the bottom left of the screen to your module tool bar and click "Transport". Always keep transport selected!

ok i see Transport and to the left of that theres a circle which turns red when you click it..still not working tho. is that the button you where talkin about?

Just click the transport tab, not the record button.

yea still not workin..on pro tools what i create a new track for reason should it be an instrument track or a regular audio or what?

I create an instrument track and bus the output to an audio track. You don't have to, but once I finish the beat, I record the synths to disc to save on CPU just incase someone does a song to the beat. The audio track needs to be record armed to hear the output from the instrument track. When you insert Reason on your instrument tracks, the rewire box will pop up allowing you to select the audio output channels from the main out module all the way at the top of the Reason rack.

So for example, start off you Reason beat with a Thor. Delete the mixing board in Reason. Press the Tab button to flip to the back side of the rack. Run the main L/R audio outputs of the Thor to channels 1 and 2 on the audio module at the top of the rack. Then in the advanced midi module, assign the Thor to a midi channel. Go into Pro Tools and insert Reason on your first instrument track. By default, the rewire inputs will be mix L and R, which is the same as channels 1 and 2 coming off the main out in Reason.

Now make a NN-XT module. Tab to the back of the rack and drag the outs to channels 3 and 4 on the main out module. Assign your midi track. Go into PT, and on a new instrument track, insert Reason and when the rewire box opens, select channels 3 and 4.

Then just keep doing this for every sound you wanna use. But remember to always keep the Transport button highlighted in Reason. Every time you open a new module, the module will be selected and you MPC will be playing mulitple modules on the came midi channel.

man i stayed til 5 this mornin tryna figure this sh!t...they way u just explained it is pretty how i had setup minus the busing the output to an audio track..i know nuthing about busing anything so i think ima have to learn about that asap!
but i finally got it to work the way i needed...I didnt have the Mixer 14:2 in Reason up...i basically had to run all my outs on the modules to the back of the mixer run the master out on the mixer to hardware devie up top. I see you said i needed to delete the mixing board its not workin for me w/o the mixer so i dont know...but thanks for the support pimp...who should i make this check out to? lol

oh yea 1 more question? how do i add refills to reason? i havr a SB thor sounds Vol.3.rfl and reason drum kits-24.rfl file on my desktop..im using a mac

1. Yeah, you see where the mixers main out goes to the hardware device up top? Instead of running the modules to the mixer, run their outputs directly to the hardware device at the top. The device has something like 48 ins and outs. Then reread my post above again.

3. Bussing, is just like a city bus. You put something on a bus to send it to a certain destination (or track in this case). So say I want to use the same eq and compression settings on all three verses of a song. I can create an Aux track, put those eq and compression plugs on the aux, and send each verse to the aux via a bus before it goes to the main out/master fader. So I would set the aux tracks input to say "bus 1 and 2", and leave the output as "out 1 and 2" to the master fader. Then go to each verse/audio track and set all their main outputs to "bus 1 and 2". So instead of the verses going to the master fader first, they go to the aux tracks with the effects first and the aux track sends them out the main outs. This way, you don't have to put a plugin on all 3 verse tracks and you'll save lots of CPU.

Now say you want to add some reverb or delay to those verses. You also have sends. Sends pretty much send the audio to another location in addition to the audios main output. So in this case, we have our verses going to the aux with the eq and compressor. We can also use another bus to send the verse to a reverb/delay track. So you would create another aux track and insert a reverb or delay and send each verse to the aux track using "bus 3 and 4". You can either send the verses from their main audio tracks or from the verse aux track. It all depends on if you want eq/compressed or non-eq/compressed verses to go to the reverb/delay. That's your preference though. Get it?

Got it! I had to actually watch sumbody do it on expertvillage.com but now it makes perfect sense...I been doin this sh!t allll wrong! lol..1 last question, im assuming the answer is yes but does an Aux track count as 1 of the 48 tracks i have available in my pro tools???

I'm not 100% sure, but I think so!
