Kustom, Did you ask him to not put the AKAI PROFESSIONAL LOGO back on "I knew something was missing", If you did not ask him to leave it off I would send the housing back or see if maybe you could get some money back.

Just saying that what ever he is using is more than likely top of the line equipment, You have to crawl before you walk. No disrespect but I have read some of your past comments and at this point you cannot really expect to compete with FORAT, his clietele is crazy. He has been at it for years, But I guarantee you that he did not get that far by downing the next person. As one forum member posted there is definately room for another MPC CUSTOMIZER/REPAIRER that could survive off of customers from this site alone as long as they build up a good, honest reputation. Don't worry about the next man STAY FOCUSED and DO YOU! Who knows I might send you my MPC one day.

Also I like what you did to your MPC, But next time try to see if you could lay the paint on a little smoother (No Orange Peel) Before you reduce your air pressure just swipe your gun left to right a little faster, It will result in giving you a thinner coat, Remember PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. Also IMO I think it would have looked better if you would not have painted the buttons and knobs. But keep doin' ya thing, I definately see mad potential in the whole idea.

Can't wait to see some of your future work.

When you do officially get started don't focus so much on making $MONEY$, But concentrate more on building up a NAME for yourself, and don't speak negative about someone else's work. If I went to FORAT and he was bashing you or anybody else, that right there would make me turn around and walk out. I hate it when people do that! DO YOU & STAY HUMBLE!

i wasnt trying to put myself into competition with forat..im trying to give the less fortunate a much better deal on a custom piece of equipment..almost next to nothing as a matter of fact,im not in it for profit,im in it for the feeling i get..ive sold 2 mpc2500 cases now that i custom painted for 55 dollars..if i can find the people i'll have them vouche for me and possibly post pics..these were also cases that i purchased,,from vst,54 bux a piece, thats a buck profit...now who wants to go to forat?

the reason u see orange peel on my stuff is because i dig it...i wouldnt like it on my car,,but i do like it on my equpment,,again if i can find the buyers, they will vouche for this also...(i know one of them is a member here but im not sure of his screen name here)
the custom 2500 thread has some pics of my work also, and the custom 500 thread..
i took autobody in highschool for 4 years..
i wish i still had my numark mixer that made raw and sprayed oil on it then painted it yellow and it ended up with orange fisheyes everywhere...im just different bro..if i painted something for you,it would be to your exact likings!

and im not realy sure what u mean by bashing?
i dont bash them,,i think there work is quality,i think there artist are off the hook,i think there engineers must be pretty bright, there designers are dope, and the tech people do good work,,damn come to think of it,,,,,,i do all this by myself..

and i stay humble,,,thats why i say,,"if u want it done nice and cheap, let me help you" people just take it the wrong way i guess..

You should definately start up a MYSPACE just for your business, if you do, send me a link. also send a link of the stuff you've done so far. If and when you get a chance to find them. I will definately help spread the word to my homeboys they are not trying to pay that FORAT price neither. I would'nt have a problem paying it if I wanted something done but I am content with my all black 2500LE.

Also, I can't resist I gotta say it. "POST PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN" :D

Also, is your technique good enough to lay out clear as smooth as glass without wetsanding, I know it wont be as smooth but you know what I mean.

i've posted pics of everything ive done,,so now its ur job to go find them...there all right here in this forum some place or another...and i will round up all my pics and post them also...
id reraly apreciate you helping me get my name out there,,but like i said,,im just in it for the hobby right now..if someone happens to ask me to do some work for them,,i take that as a compliment, and feel the need to do it for as cheap as possible,,with a good outcome..

as for the clear..i doubt i could spray it to look like glass, but as u mentioned, after a wetsanding and buffing,,it would def. look like glass.

let me go find these damn pics now..

before everyone gets at forat... know his history dude was programing machines for roger linn way before the 60 even came out. Hes a tech man at heart. the only reason he got into painting machines was because michael jackson wanted his linndrum red. forat doesn't advertise anywhere yet dude is crazy busy all year long. thats a business built straight on word of mouth. it was alot of his ideas that went into the 60. dude had his throat cut by linn. anyway im happy it looks dope too me. its gonna feel like a new machine to me!!!

SonSeelye did mine... I can't speak for anyone else, but my case is fresh (that's my humble opinion). He was even kind enough to give it a few extra coats in colors I chose (or my wife chose, anyway LOL). He's even going to do my side and front covers as soon as VST gets the fronts in (they're outta stock).

The only reason I haven't posted pics is the lighting in my bedroom is horrid, and I've been too busy to move it to the living room. I'm definitely going to post something up soon though.

Honestly, I think he could compete with Forat, at least for the customizations sought by the "average Joe" market, given some more word-of-mouth and experience. You know, starving musicians that are still on the fence about whether they should customize due to the high price. I can't think of a reason to go with someone more expensive if he's able to do any customizations I ask for and up to my standards. It really is dope work... And bottom line, I got my shit to look the way I wanted it to for less than $100. Bruce is a long way from being that affordable. :)

Edit: Kustom, your MPC looks dope as hell bro!

Yup... I like the LED's the most. I hate the red LED's on the MPC2500.

Yeah that started me thinking about modding for aesthetics when I had said to myself I would only do so for operational benefits before...
