MPC 2000 to 2000xl

Can I transfer programs from one machine to the other? has anyone here upgrade to and xl from the classic?.. Will I run into issues? or is the O.S. basically the same and should load up my samples and play my programs and sequences?

I believe you can transfer samples and programs from one to the other. Even Snd files.
If not, use MPC Editor to convert it. http://www.midicase.com/mpceditor

No problem whatsoever loading 2000 stuff in a xl mpc.
Same architecture. Same program layout etc etc.

That's what Ive heard as well

MPC's are always forward compatible.

out of curiosity... do things like mixer volumes and panning get transfered aswell? just curious.

good to know, not that I have a classic or anything... it is a good looking machine though... I can say I wish I had one to mess with..

you know, now that I think about it... I am curious to know if the mixer settings are saved in the pgm or the seq file. I assume the seq file.
