a little thing i am curious about when it comes to the ipod bit... I think what I am understanding is that.... when you finish making a beat and you like it, you can then connect your beat thang up to an itunes type of network and upload your track to be purchased? sort of like a reverse podcast? Is this correct? And if so, what is the point in having the feature? I mean maybe I am all wrong about making finished tracks, but dont the tracks usually get mastered or something once you get the beat down?

No need to put your kick, snare, and hi hat on separate tracks anymore.

The main sequencer is 16 tracks but, each of these tracks has 8 sub-tracks or 8 notes of polyphony if you wish. You can then mute the 16 main tracks and/or mute the 8 sub-tracks separately. The one flaw I see in there design is only having 12 main pads instead of 16. I believe they will have to use 4 of the smaller pads to mute tracks 13-16.

Why they keep calling the App Store the "iStore"?

sounds ok when working in the machine, but it sounds like a hassle when tracking... to my unexperienced azz it sounds like youd have to track your drums out from the same track in individual passes... not really the most efficient way to work... it seems as if tracking or anything beyond what you can do in the box hasnt been fully contemplated imo... maybe im wrong, how else would you track a drumtrack that has all your drums on one track?!?!?

Let's say you got a drum kit on track one. You can have 88 samples on that kit (unless you assign mutiple samples on one pad then you can have more) you can then seq all your drums on that one track. The cool thing is that we will allow you to mute and solo each of these 88 pads and each pad has separate FX sends too so snare sent to reverb, hi hat to delay and kick dry.
So it's almost like 88 sub tracks per track x 16 tracks. When u are ready to record out to a DAW or what ever you can solo each pad if you wish and record it out in real time or you can solo a pad and bounce it to a WAV file then drag it over USB into the computer.
We have stereo outs and the 2 stereo head phone outs so 6 mono out puts total. We will try to allow the user to use those stereo head phone outs as assignable outs for pads and tracks so you could have 6 drums coming out at one time on different out puts. This feature will probably not be in 1.0 but it is a feature we would also like to have so we will work on it.
We figure most people will bounce to wav and drag to the CPU and we may can add a feature that allows a multi bounce so each pad on a track bounces into separte files so the user doesn't have to solo every pad and bounce it separatly. This is also something that will most likely be 1.1 release.
We plan to be very aggresive with the updates incorporating your thoughts and wishes however our main focus at this point is that the main features work solid.
Our vision is that the thang has room to grow via software and hardware. We are designing a really open hardware and software platform...
Thanks for your patients. We are working hard to finish the machine. We won't just throw out any old thing. It's gotta be a THANG before we ship. We will be as hard on it as any of you would be.
Best regards
Kangz

Keep the information coming re: specs and ideas. All looking good so far. Looking forward to seeing this machine in the UK.
