Kalei wrote:IF they indeed are releasing another one it will probably have atleast firewire (maybe optional though) and USB 2.0. Those 2 things alone is great news. They should even consider putting in a regular network jack in it, or atleast that yamaha mlan format.
On the downside though, the OS wont be ready for atleast 2 years after its release if you look at Akais track recordI sure as hell wont buy one until all the features they'll sell it with will be materialized.

If I were you I would learn the basics first than to worry about more advanced gear. I will talk to the great Naoya of Akai Yokohama by phone tomorrow to see if is true since the MPCs are made in Japan. It`s about skills not the gear you have. I ask you do you know the history of the Akai MPCs? Do you know that some of todays hit are being made on 60s, 3000s and 2000XLs and it was only recently that some of the big time producers have which to the 4000 which is only two yrs old. Get it together. Check Akai directly for such info and questions there been too many jokers in the past asking and creaming for the lastest gear without knowing how to use the gear that they had. Master it first!!!!If you got a hot beat, piece or part it doesn`t matter what you got!! Mind over matter. The greatest piece of gear you can get is your intelligence. Find out what you don`t know learn the machine. If you have never been on this type of hardware you must master the process and use your intelligence. Everybody`s ignorant in the beginning like a new baby, we all had to discover and learn the knowledge we didn`t know. It`s not the gear it your knowledge and through time your experience.

if you compare a software with 2 years old is nothing nowadays, I believe mpc 4k should have some improvements, vga adapter and other things that Kalei said, it will be good for everybody and now akai has a competitor with new feautures that's why I was wondering if they will release.
