Problems Loading files from CD

I bought some sounds for my mpc2500 called Dr. Dre Drums. I downloaded the file, unzipped it, and burned them onto a cd. I checked the disc in my computer and It shows all the files are there, mostly wav files, and a few other extentions. It also looks like they are 16 bit not 24bit samples. ON my mpc, i put the disc in, press mode, and select load. I then choose to load from cd or internal memory. I pick cd. Beneath it says (:Root), next line down says (File:Dr. Dre). Nothing about the size of the file. on the next line it says (view: all files), (wave free=117.6mb, seq. free= 1352kb). It does not show a list of files or folders included in the main file. The next line is (load,save,util,usb do it). I select "do it", and the screen goes to "load folder", beneath it says "load all programs and samples and all seq & song files". Then "Replace same files in memory (yes or no)". I have tried both yes and no. Next line is clear-cancel-do it. I select do it and it goes back to the previous screen only now it says load from cd,then root, and where it says file, there is nothing. This is where it showed Dr. Dre before. I have also tried changing settings so that the line where it says (:Root) now shows (:Dr Dre) but then the line where it shows (:File) is blank. After going thru this sequence of events and nothing working, I have to start all over because the mpc no longer shows the Dr. Dre Drums file/folder in the load window even though it's still set to load from cd. I switch to load from internal memory, and then back to cd and the file shows up again just like before but it never loads. What am I doing wrong?

Verify that they are

16 bit
44.1 sample rate
WAV format
and the names are less than 16 characters in length

Yeah they are all of the above.

what happens if you highlight the line "file: dr.dre" and then hit the window key and then the right arrow?
if there are any subfolders they will get visible that way.

if there are no subfolders something is wrong with the format of the disc. remember most pc can read more formats than the mpc can...

Toss the same samples onto a CF card or hook-up the USB and try it. This'll tell if it's a problem with the disc/disc drive, or if it's a problem with the files themselves...

Ok I highlited the file, hit window, and right arrow. No subfolders are there. So this means the disc is formatted wrong? Ok how do I format the disc the correct way? Can I reformat the same disc or do I need a new one?

I am also getting ready to try to use usb, and a compact flash card to load the files. I will let you know how that works. BTW, does the CF card have to be formatted a certain way also?

it is always better to use the format option on the mpc to format cf-cards or harddisks for use with the mpc because that way some of the bugs, especially the so called "save bug" are not that likely to appear.
something in the way the mpc formats in fat is different from the way microsoft does.

ok I formatted the cf card on my mpc. havent put anything on it yet, but in the meantime how do i format a cd for use in the mpc? My computer reads it fine and shows all of the files but the mpc only recognizes the title of the disc.
