Two basic 4K questions

1. Is there a way to trim my sample in the same manner in I did it on the 2k. I seem to have to designate the "region" and the "trim" in order to hear my desired selection. In the 2K I just would trim the sample and assign it to a pad...There must be some sort of setting or magic button that will allow me to trim with greater ease.

2. What is the best way to synchronize and record my MPC audio with Pro Logic?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You need to go to sample, then make sure you have the correct sound chosen, then choose the trim/lp tab... This is prety similar to the 2kXL sample edit window.. After you have the portion selected that you wish to trim... choose edit... Then scroll through the options to discard and hit do it.. I think that should do it.

If you are working on one sample to trim make sure that region is set to one so you are covering the whole sample. Actually you don`t have to touch region if you are only discarding the start and end of the sample. Now if you are dividing the sample into 16 zones aka regions then you simply window button highlight regions set to 16 then go through adjusting each regions start and ends and hit the button to make a program from regions done.

It is up to you but I usually make my mpc the slave and Logic Studio the master using midi beat clock. You have to read up in your manual to set up midi in sync in the 4k manual.
