Hey D, whats up? yA man. He got me to get with the w30. As I speak I got this beat I just did, no samples, just the internal sounds on the w30, using my 60. We spoke on july 4th for like three hours, he skooled me on alot!!! He got me on the MIDI tip, I was gonna basically give the w30 away for free to a friend a while back, but I couldnt find the plug in chord, well, I found the chord last week. I seriously havent used the w30 since like 1995-96, I gave it up cause of the wack sequencer, I was oblivious to MIDI.

Yo elmacaco, if you ever in L.A. you got a place to kick it!!

by the way, hows the album going?

What can I say, I'm trying to beat Primo as the Patron saint of the 60 ;)
No Ounces please!!! I don't need the extra survailence :)

I'll call you soon Andreas.

Yo D, I peeped your site, I was feeling the last 3 beats and rhymes on the bottom of the page. Keep at it.

ELAMACACO, whats up? I was on ebay and I noticed that the 60 has gone up in price, alot, Im talking a couple hundred. And also, at the same time, the 2000 has dipped dramatically, I saw a loaded 2000 xl for 750$. There seem to be alot of 2000's and very little 60's. Looks like I bought mine at the right time. Any comment on this?

People don't sell 60's often. WHen you get it, you tend to keep it. Getting one in good shape is tough too, so that tends to up the price.

When I think about selling shit, it has to be something I can easily get again in as good or better shape for the same or less money. Not gonna happen with a 60.

They also made a lot of 2000's, I think they probably sold more 2000's than 60's but I could ben wrong. The 2000 is a good machine, I like it better than the XL personally, but I am a bit of a luddite.

I know you are not thinking of selling the 60!! Don't do it, it's a great match judging from the beats you've put up. And if you don't like the 2000, getting a good 60 is kinda hard.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

elmacaco. Been doing alot of reading up on the s950. And you can get one for around 200$ Whats your take on this machine? It seems like a cool compadre to the 60, and to have 2 akai samples at my disposal, I think I would be in 12 bit grit heaven.
Man, Id even be willing to give up my sp12 and w30 for a s950.

Am I crazy?

By JStruMENTAL Fri Jul 30, 2004 12:03 am
jd andreas, the mpc60/s950 is a calssic duo, peep the early gangstarr albums, all 60/950, im pretty sure premo still uses it
