I've never used it on the MPC, but when you OPEN WINDOW on Timing, in the Timing Correct screen there is that Shift timing feature.

add some air to the beginning of the sample and edit your sample start time til its spot on..

The open window timing buttons (later and earlier) adjusts the start point of the sample by two ticks for each number you go up or back. Same as going into step and moving something 2 ticks.
