Do you remember when you first got your 2000 XL?

^^^i did the same thing..printed the pdf and grabbed a three ring binder and started punching holes..

ive had mine a couple of days, ive already had to unlearn a lot of "bad habits" i learnt on my 500. Especially playing style, i was mad used to slamming the pads on the 500, now on the XL i have to press them different or i get double triggers..i know this is just technique and im adjusting slowly.

Workflow is awesome compared to the menu hell of the 500, but theres still a few things im doing wrong, like loading a PGM and finding its gone into slot 1 where i just made drums with something else. Of course its jsut a matter of changing it back, it just works slightly different on the 500, but its only a matter of time before i loose those habits.

must say im loving the XL, paid $300 plus shipping so even tho mine arrived with a broken power button and note variation slider its a great deal. Its standard except for maxed memory.

Man son, I thought you had a used (but good condition MPC) and then went and customized it. You Practicaly resurrected an MPC from the dead! Now, I even more impressed with the final product. Outstanding job,man!

oh man.. is this the dude from youtube that was complainin cause he didnt know how to use his 2kxl 10 minutes after he got it?

I bought mine within the first few months after it was released and only sold it a couple of weeks back to upgrade to a 2500. I foolishly thought it'd be similar to my sp202 but how wrong I was! After a few weeks of head scratching it was cool though.

It's easily the best piece of hardware I have bought for how it enabled me to up my game, but the 2500 has filled the gap nicely.

I got my first XL the month they dropped (around '99-'00) . I sold my classic and got it just for the bit reduction feature, I thought it was some magic mode that would turn it into a advanced SP-1200 . To my dismay it wasn't what I wanted as far as work flow, returned it, got another classic and stuck w/ that and my SP-12 .

Sold my classic about a year ago and now I have my 2nd XL and love it because I now know what I want .
