So heres my situatuation.I just picked up a 60 for $350(os 2.12) and already own a 2000xl. I cant afford to keep'em both cuz I've been trying to get a Kurz module. So ones definately gotta go. I managed to sample some drums into the 60 and messed with some sequences. Needless to say I am overly impressed and will have a hard time sellin it. So the problem inlies here, if I keep the 60 what happens to all my .ALL programs with all my sequences/songs?The 60 will load them if I'm correct, but the pads will be laid out different. So the next thing is this,if by upgrading the 60 will that enable me to lay my pads out as I wish.I have written everything in the past(2000xl)in GM kit format. So if I can just lay out my drums back to GM format everything might be ok.Has anyone ever loaded a .ALL from the 2000xl to the 60? What else might I be losing?

the past is the past, record everything you got an the 2000 and keep your disks and such. You can convert the sounds with the MPC editor once you get the upgraded OS, then start over with new sequences and shit.

you can always pick up a new xl, findin a dope 60 like that is hard.

So do you know if the .All is the same type of file used in both units?I'm sure it is being as how it has the same extension. The only thing is I have know way of checking.I've got some DD disks but know way of copying one to the other. What about the 3.10 upgrade, does it allow you to move around the drum pads as you please? My fingers dont feel to comfortable with the bass/snare/hhat/ layout.

you may be able to edit the pad placement in the old OS, but it may involve changing the sample note number to match the pad, check the manual, it's at forat for both versions.
