Hi,
sorry for my bad english...
Everybody knows the case on the akai ram memory if you try to buy the original can be cost around $160... but if you buy a common ram memory for laptop you can maximize your ram for just a couple of bucks...
You don't need to be a genius to notice that shit but you can see everyday how mpc's are always using computer parts since always... first mpc's was using floppy drives then zip drives, memory card readers, etc... mpc1000 use laptop hard drives, mpc4000 desktop hard drives... anyways... I saw a lot of people selling "obsolete" parts for computers like memories or hard drives like "memories or hard drives for mpc's" and they are asking for a fortune...
just make a research on ebay an you can see people selling "zip drives for mpc's" or worst "zip disk for mpc" and those can cost $20 each!! but if you look for those zip disk like what they are just zip disks you can buy a lot with the same 20 bucks...
anyways... I was looking that "new" blue lcd screen... I love it... I want one... probably you want one for you... but if you check the price probably are frustrated like me with that $105 price! come on $105 for just a lcd display?! so I was thinking and I said... "most of the parts of the mpc are from pc's... and all of the parts are circuits, chips, etc... so... lets make a research about the service manual..." the screen that mpc1000/2500 use is a 240x64 dot lcd screen... and that's why I love google... put that shyt on your google and you can find a lot of those Industry standard lcd screens everywhere!
as you can see here :http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/LCD-125/240-X-64-LCD-W/-EL-BACKLIGHT/1.html and just $9,85 each okay, probably that's not blue but continue with your research and you can find a lot of those chinese sellers...

I saw the video how to install the display very easy... you take more time taking out the screws... the only problem that I saw was the cable... so I have a friend he is engineer on this kind of shits... so probably for him find how to do this or show me whats the exact model and how to put that cable its going to be very easy... just give me some days I need to have a lil of free time to can make a visit on his house and show him my mpc... so... then... when I have all the info I'm going to make an update to this post letting you know guys...
I'm pretty sure this shit its going to be so good for all...
this chinese guys make a lot of type of this displays... blue, red, white, yellow, green... so... probably you guys already have an a good idea about how to customize yours already...
the other case is the cd-m25 the cd/dvd recorder for mpc2500 (i dont have a mpc2500) so I can't see how it is the connectors of this piece but I you have one of them please take a pic from every side of yours and show me... I can tell you what kind of laptop cd/dvd burner can be compatible with your mpc2500 and you probably just need to spend not more than 40 bucks on ebay...
I'm systems engineer and I work with a lot of computers... I was looking one of my laptops and the shape of my cd/dvd burner Is just like the cd-m25 but how I dont have the mpc2500 and I cant find any pic from the connectors of the cd-m25 I cant tell you now if the model of my cd/dvd burner can be compatible with yours...
The point is... Akai don't make his own parts... so they need to buy those parts from manufactures and If we can figure out what kind of parts you are using on your mpc, you can easily find the standard part on internet and of course... cheaper!
those color diodes I'm pretty sure they cant be cost more that 25 cents each...
well If you have another idea just share with us... I think mpc's are expensive by them selves and buying parts and shit could be more expensive if we dont have the info and the knowledge, probably somebody here is an electrician or technician and can be very helpful if you just open your mpc and check what do you have inside and share that info with us... I know a lot of people here are carpenters and they make his owns tables, desks, etc... so... somebody here needs to be a technician...
well... thanks for your time, If somebody can help, just reply... If not... when I have all the info that we need I;m going to update this post...
Peace and Respect.
