You have volume, panning, and filter options for every sound and the ability to resample something with effects on it - "none" by today's standards but you can do enough on it.

I have to disagree w/ (aka none)...There's definitely mixing options on the 500...Basic ones but really the essential ones are there, just gotta know how to freak it n tweak it & you can get a pretty decent mix.

Yeah, A MPC has more mixing options than a mixing board (the volume and pan of a board plus more) so I don't see the problem.

i like the way all of the tracks sound. imo, its awesome to be able to mix tracks to sound crisp and clear...but everyon is doing that these days. i like the organic, grimey feel that all of your tracks seem to have. by all means, i dont overdo the "grittyness" if u will, but a healthy balance seems to have been struck here. i like it, this is wut music is about. everyone craves that vintage 2 track sound that made places like Hitsville famous. ur keepin it real. keep it pushin peace.

I can't listen to your shiz at work, Sned, but I have no doubt that it's uber-tight. I gotta give you props for working with the tools you have, and actually using a 'lesser' piece of gear to finish the product.

The 500 has plenty of scope for finishing tracks; you just have to get a bit creative with it! There's only one word that anyone really needs to know (hell, it's worth saying three times)...

RESAMPLE! RESAMPLE! RESAMPLE!

good stuff...2nd was dope as shit...the last one was kinda off to me, like it had too much stuff playing at once it seemed. overall nice man!

the limitations on the 500 are actually a blessing in disguise. forcing you to work with less often makes you concentrate on whats really hot... thats what ive found anyway

Quick notes:
1. good, naked "foundation" beat. Needs lyrics.
2. Good beat. Good beat and baseline. Remove and/or change "Oooh" sample.
3. Didn't care for it. Nothing that cant be fixed. Bridge was interesting. (the part after "keep it on" is the bridge IMO)
4. Most interesting beat so far.
5. possibly hot. The kind of stuff that might make a mill with 2pac lyrics over it.

The last beat on of the original post file is TIGHT. Really like the EP lick on that one. Nice!
