Hello everyone,

Firstly, I've been enjoying reading this forum since I got my MPC a few weeks ago; everyone seems super friendly here.

Secondly, I have a question... about FOOTSWITCHES! I don't know much about them. I see they're just jack connections. Do they just send a signal like a button press or something? Can I use any kind of footswitch like this one: http://www.chrisguitars.com/footswitch- ... 070201.jpg

How does it work?

Hope you guys are well

It has to be a non-latching/momentary switch type.

i have one and man, does it help me a lot.

this is how i use it

im on my keyboard. mpc is playing
i got the melody i want and im in the zone playing it.
instead of stopping and pressing rec on the mpc
i just stomp on the pedal and that keeps me in groove

stomp.

how does it work you said.
you assign things to it, for example wiht me,

i have rec/overdrive assign to it.

you could add a pad to it.

so you stomp and the kick goes, kinda get a feel of a real drum set??? maye not....

I guess, to me it seems like they provide lots of options honestly. I'm picking up a pedal tonight. Hopefully I can use the same pedal for record/start and overdub functions on the same setting.
