Ok, I asked this in the MPC5000 section, but no one seems to have an answer yet. Thought since there's far more MPC1000 users, maybe one of you would know the answer to the question below.

I'm considering purchasing the MPC5000 since the price has come down. However, I'm very concerned about the 20 song limitation. This seems like a very small amount of songs available for such a large & capable machine. Since you can only record audio tracks in song mode, I will surely need access to more than 20 songs.

I saw in the manual that you can bounce songs to sequences, but I assume that will not work if you have recorded audio tracks as part of those songs.

Streaming audio tracks are a key component to my needs, which is why I'm considering the MPC5000 over the other MPC's.

thanks in advance for you help/suggestions

Well, I want to use this setup in my band for live shows. Depending on the show we may do 40-50 songs a night. I need to use Audio tracks for the song (such as harmony vocals, guitars, etc) and from what I can tell, it doesn't appear that you can bounce audio tracks from songs down into a sequence. If anyone knows that this can be done, please let me know.....

thanks

More then 20 songs in a folder is not a problem. But more then 20 songs loaded up in RAM will be problem. I don't know if it's a problem for you to erase the ram and load up another bunch of songs during ur live session?
Otherwise I would still search for the 'song convert to sequence' feature.

Haven't tried it yet, since I haven't purchased the MPC yet. This issue was one of the big issues I was trying to figure out before spending my hard earned money :-)

Now that I know the MPC can do what I need it to do, I just need to make time to spend the money....

like you said 40-50

folder 01--will have songs 1-20
folder 02- will have songs 21-40
folder o3- will have songs 41-50
so on and so on.

Hi!
I have the same question and the answer is not so clear yet.
Is it possible to save more than 20 songs in the Cf card in different folders, right?
But how much time it takes to load each song from the card, in seconds? 4s-5s ?
I already use an SP808 for 9 years in live concerts with my band. I play various acoustic traditional instruments and I start sample pads or songs with a foot switch. We use it in around 36 songs in concerts . I’m looking to replace my very old SP808 with an MPC1000 or at least to use the MPC1000 as back up in case of “accident” during a concert or vice versa.
I was very lucky until now… thanks also to my 4 back ups that saved me from horrific troubles the terrible moment the problem was there, but the machine is real old... I read the manual and it is not clear in that, probably most of the people using it don't need more than 20 songs.
Thank you.
