wussup mpc heads?!? i don't get this crossfade function, it works fine in the trim screen, but as soon as i enter the main screen to record, it goes back to normal loop. i've read up on the jj site and it doesn't say much about the crossfade function besides the fact that it doesn't work under 100ms. does this function only work in the trim screen? if this is the case why even have crossfade if you can't utilize it when recording? or is my OS2XL somehow not working properly?

thanks for the reply.

hmmm...i dunno?... i've been trying to understand this for a few days now. to be more explanitory, when i use it in trim it is a very smooth crossfade with no clicks or pops and no pumps when looping repeats, even without zero crossing. but when i goto the main screen to play the sound i can hear the crossfading but its as if its just a forward loop with raising and lowering volume and it pumps when looping repeats?

Jap, got the same problem here!

I tried everything to get it working, but it's still messed up :( i've reported it to JJ a while ago, but still no effort to fix this.

I X-Fade-Looped my Samples on my Computer now.
Most Wave-Editors have a Crossfade-Feature.

I'm working on a Mac, so i use "DSP Quattro X"
On PC you could use Wavelab but I'm shure there are free Programms as well.

Hope JJ will fix that one day....

No its not that, besides in os2 and os2xl both oneshots and note on samples can loop,

The problem is with loop clicks. xfade loops sound ok in trim, until you turn on pgm mode, or play the sample in another screen. From memory i think its mono samples only.

is there any way how to get rid of the loop/click/pop sound while looping sample in jj 3.09??? or only way is to get jj osXL and use fade in/out?

mikolo wrote:it'll depend on the sample, but for most things more complex than the simple synth waveforms then you'll need alt loop and xfade loop . alt loop is on jj os 1,2,and xl xfade loop is just on xl.

thanks :-) does the zero cross solves this problem or xfade is still needed?

The X-Fade-Problem is solved in the latest Bugfix 1.15 for 2XL

Using Zero-Crossing will reduce the clicking but still the loops may sound a bit chopped, X-Fading makes that smoother.
