have a hhb burnit audio cd recorder on the way.. I am needing to go from the MP str8 to the recorder.. How do I hook this up? Ideally I want the recorder hooked up to where I dont have to switch around rcas everytime.. Also what are the SMPTE 1/4 jacks on the back usually used for?

nothing unless you have the smpte chip installed, and then for sync.

Considering the fact that there are no RCA jacks on the mPC, unless you're talking about the S/PDIF jacks on the 8-Outs card, you won't have to switch any RCA cables. And if you are using the S/PDIF jacks for transferring to the CD recorder, then just use the Stereo Outs for monitoring when making beats.

why not wait until the cd recorder gets delivered and you take it out of the box and compare inputs/outputs of the cd recorder & mpc and make a decision from there---whether the decision is to experiment and try to learn something on your own, read the manual or post this question online.
