i just got my 1000 been using the akai os for week or two it was shipped with the new akai os .., i then read about jj. installed the free one , liked it, but the pad response aint as sharp as the akai os...i adjusted the sensitivity and done as much as i can but i doesnt respond as it did..i had to bang em hard to play sounds..

i changed back to the akai os, version 2.12 (the one it came with) i had to download the bin from akai..

and the pad response is proper now...

there is chopshop on it now??? but wasnt on the version i had even though that too was 2.12 ????..it take uckin ages though...

im gonna change back to jj cos its quicker, but i wanna know is there anyway to make the pads play from a soft touch...???

Get JJOS 1.

U probably bought a new mpc with the new sensors. The new pads only have full response with the newer akai os versions, like the one that was shipped with ur mp.

The free JJ was released prior to the release of the padupgrade, so actually it only supports the old pad system.

JJOS1 and up have integrated better pad senstivity on the os to support the pad upgrade.
