Hi JJ OS experts,

I just recently upgraded my MPC2500 to JJ OS2XL, but I would like to revert back to Akai OS for certain projects. Should I format the HD everytime I switch OSs? I'd prefer not to because the time it takes moving files from and to the HD.

Thanks,

im guessing no. try it, the worst that can happen is you wont be able to access the drive. you wont lose any data. but back that sh*t up first of course.

I would not work that way since the Akai OS still has the potential for file corruption.
If for some reason you still find some value in the Akai OS and the need to use it get another CF card and dedicated it to working on the Akai OS, still format it with the JJ OS but only use it with the Akai OS.
That will prevent the Akai OS from causing issues with the JJ projects.
With 8G cards being as cheap as they are it's pretty easy to dedicate a card to the different JJ OS versions as well.
