Akai MPC 60 help with type of step down transformer

Akai MPC 60 has just arrived here in the UK. We have to get a step down transformer (the MPC 60 is 120 volts, 32 watts). Would a maximum load of 50 VA be OK?

Any ideas on websites for buying one of these? Thanks for your help.

Watts is equal to Volts times Amps in an ideal circuit. In reality you will always have a reactive load (usually inductive.) This will give you what is known as a power factor, which will typically be better than 0.8. Assuming a 0.8 power factor and a 50VA step-down transformer will be good for a 40W device. That should be fine for your unit although it is fairly close to the rating and personally I like to over-spec things a bit to be on the safe side.
