Hi,

I've had my MPC1000 for years now. I was looking at the MPC500 and the XR20. Why? I'd like to make some beats at work at lunch or on the "sly". ;)
I've been leaning towards the XR20 because I can just turn it on and make some beats. I'm not really worried of getting sick of a built in sound set. Heck I owned an Alesis HR16 for 10 years and never really got sick of the sounds.
Anyone here have both? I'm going to check them out this weekend at my local Shitar Center. Even if you don't have both if you have an XR20 - is it sturdy? Do the batteries really last "5 hours"

Thanks for any response,
granted

Well I'm reposting this because the two replies I got were not exactly what I was looking for. I don't want or need the sounds from the XR20. But I would like to thank you for pointing out where I could get the sounds if I wanted to.
I can't bring my MPC1000 to work because it's heavy and I don't want to be lugging it around.
I wanted to know if anyone out there had an XR20 and MPC1000. I'm just looking for a portable, battery powered beat maker that will keep me entertained in places where I can't bring my MPC1000.
If you don't own an XR20 and another MPC then please don't bother replying.
Thank you!
If Im not mistaken, the XR20 is just like the Alesis 16 or 18 just with a different sound set. It will do what you wanted to do with it. Ill sell you mine for $250. I got my MPC literally 2 weeks after the XR and i dont need it. Its in mint condition and has original box and everything.
Thank you for the offer but I am lucky enough to be working for a company that I can purchase most of my gear at at or near wholesale prices.

Found it and uploading as I type.

Now more on topic: I have a mpc500 and I cannot explain what a great feeling it is to be able to take that thing with you anywhere you go. Pop in some batteries and youll have fun with it for hours.... only thing you really need to do is update it to the new OS.

64hz, don't forget to post a link if you have uploaded that file. I have to say your avatar is a little disturbing to me. That dude looks like he's got that speeding jaw thing going on tough. I do thank you though... Thanks Pound also.
