I can not get any sound out of it. I have tried plugging in my speakers to both the outputs at the back and the headphone jack. When I press the PLAY/START button I hear nothing. How can I fix this?
Also when I googled software for the MPC1000 to upload my own 808 bass drop sample (which I really need) I got a .bin file. I cannot open this using my ISO mounter.
Basically the money I just dropped on this brand new sequencer has gone to waste because I do not know how to use it. Can anyone help me with either of these problems or direct me where I can find solutions.
Thanks for your patience.

well there are some threads around here related to people who you can send your machine to. believe it or not, there are people who specialize in fixing MPCs. check out VST service, they are mentioned a lot around here... you can apparently call them and tell them your issue and they might be able to recommend what to do.

i would say first, read the manual to learn how to assign samples to a pad.

then read the manual on the "full level" button.

then read the manual about what format the mpc 1k can read (16/44.1 WAV file).

if you dont know how to use it, how can you be sure that it is broken? read the manual and figure out how the thing works first before going into a panic. if you bought it from ebay, call the seller and see if they will give you a refund if it really is broken. if you bought it from craigslist or something similar, call the cat that sold it to you and see if you can get your money back. maybe even call him and ask him to show you how to use it a little bit, just to get you started.

just my thoughts
