MP1000 Stereo L/R Out Issues. Only Right side plays audio.

Ive noticed a gradual decrease in my Left output level on my main stereo out. Now the Left side audio is completely dead. Ive tried changing the cables and still no positive results. Anyone know where i can get these parts or if there is any possible way to fix this problem?

If you're not under waranty it might be worth it to take the MPC apart and try to unplug/replug your ribbon cables. Something may have come lose, gotten corroded or anything else. Probably a faulty logic board though.

before opening it up try some cleaner for the contacts. I had an input "die" on my motif and it just turned out to be loaded with gunk.

try some headphones too. just to see if its the audio processor or just a conection problem.

pound what kinda cleaner you suggest? like one of those duster spray cans or something?

I used an electrical contact cleaner, you can usually pick them up at radio shack or any other electronics spot, but dont spray it in there. Wha i did was spray a 1/4 jack and insert it a few times. While doing that I carefully went in with a qtip and cleaned up the residue. Make sure the gear is off when you do this and dont go crazy with tons of it. But before that definitely try the headphones. If you have no sound on one side in the phones its a bigger problem.

Yoyo... long time no post... So I tested the main stereo outs by doing the headphone test. When I plug the headphones in the left, there is still a faint sound that comes out of the left side... this is where it gets weird. When i plug the phones on the right, the sound comes out clean... but still on the left side... what does that mean? thanks in advance.

I'd like to open my first post by being helpful, rather than asking a silly question about where I can find beats to load in my MPC
I think what Lunatic meant was to plug the phones into the phones jack...Do you hear sound out of both channels, or just the right? If you hear them out of both, then you probably have a bad jack, if only the right then it's more likely a circuitry issue...

To answer your newest question, the plug on your phones is a TRS plug. If you look at it you'll notice 2 rings separate 3 areas of metal. This is for stereo applications and input jacks etc. on professional audio equipment i.e mixers (also called a balanced connection). Each metal section corresponds to a different wire inside the cord housing. Ground, left, and right (or ground, positive, and negative.)
Your main stereo outs (L and R) on your MP are TS (unbalanced) connections. They are designed for plugs with only one ring (ground, and signal).
When you plug a TRS headphone plug into a TS jack you generally only hear out of one side because one of the sections of the plug is not touching a connection.
