HELP with 2000xl!

[size=150]Recently i've been having problems saving and loading from my 2000xl with the multi card reader. I removed the bottom to check the wires and connection to the card reader from advice i recieved from tech support at akai. The MPC would not save anything, sounds, seq, anything. And when i tried to load, it froze on me. Anyway, i checked all the connections and everything and put the bottom back on. when i pressed the power button I did hear a small "pop" and no response from the Mpc. Needless to say i know i messed up, do anyone know what might have happened and if so is it worth getting it fixed or buying a new one. Not only did i not solve my original problem, it looks like i created a even bigger one. Any info would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance to any replys.[/size]

Also can anyone give me instructions on how to check the power fuse?
