drum breaks

i thought it would be a good idea to make a post of songs with drum breaks. old or new Ive been listening to the radio a lot lately and there's these new songs with breaks on em all the time. Hey why not drums are drums.

here's one "Sunday Morning" by Maroon 5, right in the beginning of the song

oh man, c'mon there are so many tracks with drumbreaks and most of the people know the famous breaks and those who dont know can search the net and will find many sites with infos. For the unknown breaks: I dont want to share the knowledge with everyone. you wouldnt find it anyway on the net

Get some decent drum sounds, process the crap outta them, and then learn to program properly.

All my sounds for drums are from breaks or open slots.

Dig > Chop > Program.

because i noticed that there is a drum break in a song by a mainstream pop band automatically qualifies me as not knowing anything at all. this is what you're implying. i mean come on all you hardcore "real" hip hop guys trashing me for posting this thread. maybe someone who's just starting out will do a search on this site and it could help them out. this site's supposed to be about discussion and knowledge. a public forum. i'm not the worlds most knowledgeable about hip hop and production techniques but i know more than i did when i started so im just trying to help others out instead of finding a break and guarding it with my life because im afraid that someone might do something better with it than i did. you can go on google and find breaks but i thought this might help someone find something else. i guess not.

I dont like to tell all my knowledge bout my own sample sources for people who're too lazy or stupid to search for samples. See, I use my time and money to get those records and my motivation is to find something special that you and you and you dont know. So tell me one good reason to tell it here. That would be very paradox.
Sample sources are often part of the musical style and I dont want 100 other people to sound like me (I'm afraid they could sound a bit better )

nah dude i think were just on different pages. if you go diggin hard and find something then yea dont tell anyone.im not sayin reveal your secrets and what records you have and have used on what. im not even talking bout other samples at all. just drum breaks, which i know are samples, like i didnt know that maroon 5 song had a break on it then i was like o yea theres a break so why dont i let someone know maybe they were looking for a drum sound like that. share stuff and if you dont want to then dont, i dont care.

I agree with peterpiper. It doesn't benefit anyone to share sources -- for every great record that I've found, there's at least 50 that I had to go through that weren't so great. If you love listening to music, then going through those 50 LPs it's a small price to pay.

Some of my greatest finds have been accidental. When you find that one sound which is a total mindf**k -- something you've never heard before -- there's no feeling quite like it.

The easiest place to find breaks and samples is in your ears. Listen to the world around you.

before mpchunter opens up his own church let me just say that i was just trying to spread some love and say "hey heres a break, just breaks not anything else!, that maybe you didn't know about. but u know what i give up. many a threads turn into something not intended here. if you wanna share something then do it if not don't. stop preaching here and go over to the "i dig & chop for my soul because it makes me feel groovy" section of this website lol
