and no, there arent many record companies by me anymore, one old mom and dad pop shop but i have no use for it. HMV used to be only 4 blocks away from me, and because of the excessive cd bootlegging (that took place DIRECTLY right in front of their doors) they closed their shop and are not only in canada.

I didnt cite price as being my only option for not using vinyl. Space is my main reason. Vinyl takes up hella space.

And ima keep it real sampling using recycle + reason is easy for my needs. More up to date, which suits my personality perfect

One guy mentioned he loved getting dusty sampling... i hate getting dirty period unless im ****
One guy mentioned he liked looking at the cover art, I could care less for cover art. Even for albums I buy today I just pop the cd in and rip it straight to itunes and pop it back in the case and keep it fresh. I didnt even read my favorite artists cd booklet (lupe fiasco) til like 4 months after purchasing.

hey i miss cover art. I think music was only half te deal when buying records although when that was the main medium I wasn't around.... but i can picture it. I like those records that have a case that opens in half and is filled with all sorts of stuff. Credits, well that is some corporate stuff and sure it is cool to know... but I like seeing the entire presentation that the musician is giving us. The more recent cds that I have seen people with are often ... well the book has adds for other albums comming out and website addresses... a pic or two sometimes... sometimes the "i want to thank jesus" bit.... but that is about it.

I am tempted to make an album (lol, I am not even signed.. hahaha) with a CD pocket, but the case is the size of a vinyl case. lol... too bad it costs a lot to make a lot prints like that.

diggin is just getting dope music, that also has uses for sampling, previously it was for collectors and djs but as time changes the demographic
changes and the term is expanded to encompass more shit.

so diggin on-line is still valid cos ur still searching out music and sample worthy sounds but now ur taking advantage of technology
and getting access to records u may neva find or shit u could not afford if u did find.

how ever, I have about 50 or so 45's that I somehow dont think anyone has and if they do they aren't sampling from them. they are records printed like 50 years ago or something in old communist jugoslavia. Back in those days you had to watch what types of things you had because often things like that could have you thrown in jail. I have a few books also that were illegal to own.

mr_debauch dont listen to him...he has no clue what he is talking about. Of course other people have rare records but I know for a fact that I have some super rare records as well. I have been lucky to have a few older buddies who have worked in radio stations. I have DEMO's of cats who never made it, I have promo copies I have stuff from other countries....sure someone else may have it but the odds of them doing what I do with it are slim to none, ESPECIALLY if they are collectors...but yea Edigging is ghey.....no such thing as a "RARE" dowload

that is the thing, if you download it that means currently somebody else has it. However, because the internet is global there are a lot of foreign music files available not even written in english text that can be crazy. I like downloading stuff with triangles and squares in the title... haha. Often it is traditional music that has interesting ... hmmm.. percussion breaks? lol.. or little stringed intrument licks that you otherwise would never have heard. The cool thing also is often those come in .flac or other strange audio formats that I cant think of right now.

with that being said, im inspired to make the best I can out of whatever. I mean damn, I just sampled a song that came out a month ago, and I bet if I posted it up here absolutely NONE OF YOU would know what song it was and it got crazy plays on MTV.

Gimme like a month though, When that tax return come in im going to get another camera, speaker monitors, my Akai MPK 49 (or Akai MPD32) and Ima start with posting vids on youtube. IDK why you guys STILL beefin so hard
